Last month, we talked about the importance of bottom/hull cleaning and zinc replacement. You may have gotten a phone call from the Marina office asking you to get the bottom of your vessel cleaned and zincs replaced. We spoke to many tenants and had a lot of positive feedback. We want to thank everyone who hopped on this and got work done so quicky! All of this is a part of our effort to get boats looking maintained and in compliance with Marina Rules and Regulations. The Marina does reserve the right to schedule random vessel inspections to ensure that vessels are operational and in clean and cared for condition.
This month, we’ll be talking about cleaning the topside and what you can do personally to get this done in an eco-friendly manner. San Diego Bay is a no-discharge area, which includes most soaps and cleaning products. There are many green products you can use to clean the top side, and most of all, with a little elbow-grease, your boat will be sparkling in no time! Green or eco-friendly boat cleaning products are made of organic, phosphate-free and biodegradable soaps that will have the least negative impact on water.
