*Marine Gear Swap Meet - Saturday, May 5th*

News from the Marina Manager
Summer is trying its best to bless us with warm weather and sail winds, but it seems to be struggling to shed itself of a cold Spring. That said, I see many of our racers returning, fishermen readying for the season, and boaters fixing up their boats and making plans for the summer. The San Diego Boating Fun Calendar is jammed packed with "must do" dates. A few necessary must dos is the Wednesday night  Beer Can Races and is is open to everyone - register to participate at  www.cortezracing.com . If you've never done this, it is a hoot. And it isn't about drinking beer, although they are cold in the cooler. The Beer Can season runs from 5/23 to 8/1, so book your race now.

I also see a number of boats for sale in our Marina, and there is no better place to wed yourself to your next beauty than the upcoming  San Diego Boat Show, June 7-10 . We are already getting calls and slip reservations for racers planning to join the  2018 Baja Ha-Ha race to Cabo San Lucas  - and that's not even on the schedule until Oct. 29th. So, you can see we boaters do our share of planning ahead. That race is a must do if you can take a month off work...my boss won't let me, but I hope you can do it.

Let's face it, you bought your boat to use it, so do it now! You won't regret it. If you need some ideas or suggestions on where to go for a day trip, a place to anchor for swimming or paddle boarding, a dock to tie up to that has a restaurant, and so forth, we can provide suggestions for you. Just call or stop by the office - we're always there to chat boating. Oh, and don't miss out on our  Cinco de Mayo Swap Meet May 5th , another must do (our Swaps are legendary...sort of).

See you on the docks,
David Lorentz, Marina Manager
