News from the Dockmaster
The Chula Vista Marina is proud to announce that Assistant Dockmaster, Robert Zimmerman , has now been promoted to Dockmaster . Way to go Robert! We are sure you all recognize his face and have seen him on and off the docks often. Why not stop by and introduce yourself or just say hello? Now, a few words from Dockmaster Zimmerman.
Summer has finally arrived at the Chula Vista Marina. It’s always such a great time of the year when you own a boat and can spend as much time as you want on the water. However, with the weather heating up our end of the bay, it’s a good time to start thinking about talking to your diver and scheduling an extra cleaning or two. Unfortunately, the warmer water temperatures will cause the bottom growth to accelerate, so what worked in the winter months might not work so well for you now.
With summer here, we will start to see more activity in our neighboring parks. I don’t know if you’ve heard but on June 16 th at Marina View Park, the city is having a Carne Asada Fries Festival starting at noon…. well there goes my summer body!!!
Heads up, it’s Tree Trimming time again, and all the Mexican Fan Palms in the parking lot need a haircut.  Trimming will start on Tuesday, June 5 th and run through Thursday the 7 th .   Please remember to move your cars during this time.  We will put reminder flyers on the gates and cars. We’ll also put yellow tape across the parking lot to designate where the work will be done each day. Please help us by being aware of where it will be safe to park your vehicles during these 3 days. As always, we want to thank you all for your cooperation during this huge project.
See you on the Docks!
Robert Zimmerman, Dockmaster
