*It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere Party - Sat, Aug 4th*

News from the Dockmaster
What a great start to the summer season here at the Chula Vista Marina. There were all sorts of fun and exciting activities on the docks over the 4 th of July week! There were lots of BBQs, parties/gatherings, family fun, firework adventures, and much more. Some of you were even able to take your vessel out to the center of the bay to watch the  Big Bay Boom Show up close and personal. I know the  Bill of Rights had an exciting time taking a full crew next to the firework barge to have an experience they will never forget. I was pleased to see all of the boating fun and excitement of this past 4 th of July celebration. My team and I were plenty busy, but believe me when I say, it’s a joy to see you all having so much fun!

Speaking of fun, this sunny San Diego heat has been perfect for the boating life here on the San Diego Bay. I encourage all of you to take the time and enjoy your boat by going out and having a safe and memorable time. I am excited to see all of your water toys off the trailers and on the water. But please, remember that empty slips are not storage facilities. We do have available side ties and kayak racks for a low and reasonable rate. I encourage everyone to utilize the on-site storage space if your “toys” do not fit in your slip in front or behind your vessel.

Lastly, don’t forget about our boaters party. We will be having our  Annual “It’s 5 O’Clock Somewhere Party” on August 4 th in the Sunset Pavillion located at the RV Resort. I am looking forward to seeing you all on the dance floor busting out your best moves. Also, don’t forget about Chula Vista’s Lemon Festival happening on August 22 nd . It will be located in Chula Vista’s original neighborhood - yes, you guessed it - on 3rd Ave between E Street and G Street. If you have never been to the festival, it is worth checking out. There will be live music, good food, and some good old-fashioned Chula Vista history that may surprise you .

See you on the Docks!

Please Keep in Mind!
Starting on  Monday, July 16 , the Port of San Diego will begin importing soil to the Chula Vista Bayfront for future construction purposes. The soil is needed to increase elevation to accommodate future potential sea level rise and to improve drainage.

The soil will be trucked in and deposited on a vacant lot adjacent to the RV Resort between  7:00 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Saturday . The anticipated truck volume will range from approximately 200 to a peak of 300 trucks a day.  Yes, we agree - “Couldn’t they have waited until after summer?”

Friendly Pet Reminder
As much as we love all of our four legged fur babies, we ask that everone follow the Marina’s Pet Policy . Please keep your dog(s) on a leash at all times, no matter how small. If they happen to have an accident on the dock, please clean it up immedietly. Lastly, do not leave them unattended on your vessel. Please help us in keeping the Marina clean and safe for everyone .

Friendly Safety Reminder
Do not allow people you don’t know to follow you into the restrooms, nor allow someone to enter as you exit. Everyone must use their own key fob. If they don’t have one, they are not a tenant and giving them access puts you and other tenants at risk. Same thing on the dock gates.  Be Alert, Be Smart, Be Safe . Letting someone you don’t know to have access is not a kindness – it’s a disservice to your neighbors .

Yoga's Back
Join us for Yoga on  Saturdays at 10 am in the RV Sunset Pavilion .  It’s a great way to take a little time for yourself and relax .
